My name is Cathy Scales. I am a single mother of 6 children. About 8 years ago, my husband who was a recovering alcoholic relapsed. I never knew him as a drug user or alcoholic, he was sober when we met. Boy was I in for the shock of my life.
I went from a lovely middle class suburban home life, to slowly losing everything in the world that I cared about. My husbands addiction took off like a rocket. I couldn't believe the transformation that 1 drink had on him. With in 1 year of his relapse, I had had enough.
I probably wouldn't have never stayed with my husband for even that first year had it not been for my great fear of raising 6 children on my own. The thought of doing it all was terrifying. I can not begin to express the terror I had in the beginning of my single life. But within a short period of time, I realized a few very important things.
I was no longer angry, resentful, or depressed. Yes, I was scared about financial aspects, but I learned to cope with these issues one day at a time without letting the fear destroy me. Instead I let my fear motivate me.
For years I tried one self employment venture after another. I cleaned empty apartments to get them ready for re-rental, I babysat, I did online surveys for pay, I was a home shopper, I was a home typist, I had a booth at my local flea market, I operated an EBay store and held auctions on EBay, and finally I have opened my own web store on the Internet.
It wasn't until learning to sell merchandise online that I really saw a change in my financial situation. Through a complete coincidence, I met a man who showed me how to start an online business on EBay and showed me that I could start my own business online with very little to almost no money up front. All that was required of me was to have a computer, a bank account, and a pay pal account.
I am starting this blog to help give information to other mothers who are looking for a way to earn a living and still be at home with their kids. Even in 2 parent households the woman must work outside of the home to make ends meet. Our children are suffering by being raised in day care and the babysitters. No where is the love provided as it would be by their own mother.
As I work this blog I will be showing mothers as many ways that I can find, to earn a living at home working on their computers for 4 to 6 hours a day. In the beginning you might not be earning more than 10 to 15 thousand a year, but with the Internet being so new, the possibilities to taking this to much higher levels is very possible and definitely probable.
